My regular personal training clients are already aware that I’m taking a short break next week. Whilst I won’t be providing my usual face to face sessions, my inbox is always open, so if you’ve been thinking about getting in touch, please feel free to do so! Here’s what I offer…
One to one personal training in Horsham
Incredibly, I’ve been coaching for almost four years now! During that time I’ve learned and grown, and gained a reputation for specialising in confidence-boosting programmes. Many people who come to me for training have never set foot in a gym previously, and firmly believe that they’ll dislike it or fail at it – much the same way I felt when I first started myself!
However, many change their minds once they start seeing and feeling the difference. They find that they look forward to their sessions and feel good afterwards. They notice that their stamina and sleep quality improves. They find themselves willing to try different things, and surprised by how strong they already are and how quickly their strength increases. All of these are benefits to exercise that I love to witness.
Specialist training for those who have had cancer
The reason I became a PT was because I wanted to support cancer patients and survivors. When I was diagnosed with a sarcoma in 2018, I was 31 years old, had a good prognosis for recovery, and had to be the one to mention lifestyle factors to my doctor. This didn’t seem right to me and, once I’d recovered – using common sense alongside my own PT, rather than true expertise – I learned that there was another way.
I quickly signed up for a personal training qualification, followed by a CanRehab course to further my education and make sure that I had the best knowledge available to support clients who have different needs.
I’ve worked with clients who have been through a broad range of cancers, from breast and bowel to oesophageal and soft tissue. Seeing them return to activities that they enjoy is incredible, and I hope to continue to support the lives of those impacted by cancer.
Working with those living with COPD
In 2024, I took my education a step further and qualified to work with those who live with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Incidences of respiratory conditions are still increasing, despite a very successful public health campaign regarding smoking cessation. Vaping is on the rise, and the long-term impact of COVID-19 remains to be seen. There aren’t yet the quality of exercise provision courses to support these factors, and so studying COPD has enabled me to get started on learning more, as well as being qualified to help the existing demographic.
How to get started with personal training sessions
I’m just an email away! If you’d like to discuss getting started, please send me a message and I’ll get back to you once I return on 24th June. All I need is your name and contact details, however if there’s more you’d like to share before we chat, please do.
Working with me always starts with a free, no obligation consultation. You can meet me at the gym I work at in Horsham, or we can speak via phone. During that conversation, you’ll tell me more about where you’re at and what you’re hoping will change, and you can ask me any question you like about my services. Clients choose the frequency of their sessions – I see people as often as weekly, or on a fortnightly or monthly basis; it’s entirely your choice and depends partly on how often you’ll train between our sessions together. You can also change the regularity of our sessions once you get started – it may be that you decide you need more or fewer and that’s up to you!
Whatever you decide, I’m looking forward to being part of the journey…
