Horsham-based female specialist personal trainer, Becky, is away for a short break – here’s how you can still get in touch with her if you’d like to chat about opportunities to train with her when she’s back…

The time has come for my first proper break of the year (yes, it’s a little overdue! 2024 has got away with me somewhat…). If you’re reading this in late May or early June, I’m officially on a break. I haven’t gone far, or for long, and I’ll very happily return to a message from you if you’ve got questions for me.

As a little reminder: I currently work one-to-one with clients in Horsham on Tuesdays and Fridays. I’m happy to arrange local home visits on a case-by-case basis, so please let me know if you’re in Sussex and think that this would be helpful for you – I have done this for several clients, due to their fitness or confidence level, or their health; I’m a fully-qualified cancer exercise specialist, and for those who are on treatment in particular (yes, you can generally exercise!), training at home can be the very best option. I also support individuals who live further away via online training, so please do get in touch to discuss that.

I’ve always enjoyed working with those – particularly women – who have previously disliked or not enjoyed exercise. Those who know the trauma of school PE, and are looking for someone to help them overcome that fear, because (believe it or not) that was me too. My approach is a compassionate and engaging one, aiming to listen to what you want to achieve, and blend that with things that you enjoy whilst also enjoying getting to know you as a person. I fully believe that what we do inside the gym should support us in what we do outside of it too, which includes activities for daily living and other leisure activities. Your fitness should support your lifestyle, it doesn’t have to be the other way around.

As I’ve continued to develop since qualifying as a personal trainer in January 2021, I’ve begun to specialise more in rehabilitation. Whilst I’m not a doctor or a sports injury professional, I love learning more about physiology and helping those who’ve struggled to find support elsewhere. I’m confident in learning about different conditions, both from those who’ve been through them (because patients are experts) and doing my own research. I’ve worked with clients who have had hip replacements, knee surgeries, and a variety of cancers (which I am fully-qualified to support).

My own fitness journey has included working around a spinal fusion, recovering from an ankle ligament injury, and surviving a form of sarcoma, and even those experiences have taught me a lot about how to help my body heal but also increase strength, and where to look outside of more typical approaches in order to improve on my condition.

How to get in touch about personal training
All of my relationships with potential clients begin with a free consultation – this is your chance to ask me anything about myself and my service, and my opportunity to get to know you! When people are interested in in-person training, I prefer to do this at the gym I work at, so that you can see the space and have a tour. I will also gladly have a consultation via phone or video call too. In either case, we’ll set up a time for us to do this, so that we make sure that you get the attention you deserve.

It’s as simple as sending me an email. I’d love it if you could also include some brief details on what has made you want to start training, and an idea of what you’ve done in the past (if anything). Equally, I’m happy to just receive your name, phone number, and which element of my service you’re interested in, and we can go from there!

I’ll most likely start returning emails on Friday 7th June, prioritising those who have requested a face-to-face meeting, as I will have capacity for those on Tuesday 11th June and would like to give you as much notice as possible in order to arrange that.

I’m very much looking forward to the break I’ve planned, and I know that I’ll be back refreshed and raring to go – I’m excited to see who drops into my inbox next!
