2024 has arrived, marking the eighth chapter of my own fitness journey beginning! Whether this is chapter one or one hundred for you, here’s how to get my help in terms of personal training sessions in Horsham or online…
One-to-one personal training in Sussex
The majority of my in-person training sessions take place at Dual Strength and Fitness in Horsham, West Sussex. I’m based there on Tuesdays and Fridays, and I’m fully self-employed, so all sessions are booked and paid for directly with me. Non-members are absolutely welcome to train with me – I’m fully insured as is the gym, and free parking is available as the gym is on an industrial estate.
I say that the majority of sessions are at Dual because, occasionally, it may be more appropriate for me to visit you at home. This can be particularly relevant for some of my clients who are approaching or undergoing cancer treatment. I’m a qualified cancer exercise specialist, and those with compromised immune systems or very low energy levels may prefer to train at home. This is something we can discuss at the consultation stage (more on that later).
Whether we train at the gym or elsewhere, sessions will always aim to be achievable but progressive, and enjoyable. If there’s anything you truly hate, there are workarounds and alternatives! If you are nervous about pushing your body further, it’s ok because we start with a nudge, and safety is my priority – I will coach a movement until it’s right, rather than letting you continue with form which could cause you harm. Everyone’s body is different, and the beauty of personal training is that we go at your pace, rather than someone else’s.
Online personal training
I offer bespoke online personal training and fitness coaching. Every request for this has been with slightly different needs, so I always start with a consultation, work out a package based on your needs and goals, and then deliver if you are happy to go ahead!
As a general rule, we would start by working together for eight weeks: I will plan your training sessions for the week, send you instructions for them, and leave you to work through it! Each week, I will send you a link to an online check in form, which will enable you to request feedback via a variety of formats. I will then follow up with you via your chosen format, answering any questions you have and providing encouragement.

Before we start working together – whether face to face or online – we’ll begin by getting to know each other properly. You can either visit me at the gym (by appointment) or book a video call, so that I can find out more about your relationship with exercise, discover what you’re looking to change, and establish whether or not I can help you – I will always be honest! There may be occasions when I don’t have quite the right background, or we just don’t think we’ll be a fit for each other. If that happens, it’s honestly ok! There are lots of personal trainers available, and I firmly believe that it’s worth taking the time to find the one who suits you best.
